Speaking of Blood. Did you Know?

What Is Blood and What Does It Do?

Blood is needed to keep us alive. It brings oxygen and nutrients to all the parts of the body so they can keep working. Blood carries oxygen, to feed organs, and carries waste materials through the lungs, kidneys, and digestive system to be removed from the body. Blood also serves a role in fighting infections and carries hormones around the body.

Here at Harmony

We believe the truth of that statement. The blood most certainly is the life of any creature, but there is a further truth that is not so commonly known. Physically our blood keeps us alive and In America there are thousands of donors who help to keep trauma victims alive as well. Replacement of blood lost in surgery and illnesses is essential and we thank each one for the sacrifice of time and trouble to donate. Your time giving blood may save multiple lives.

A need still exists

There is a truth that goes deeper. As we think of the many lives that could be touched by the sacrifice of time today, the bible teaches something even more powerful

Hebrews 9:22. Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.

As we think of the things beyond the physical, the Bible has much to say about the blood. More specifically the blood of Jesus Christ. Just as the Blood that was given today will help to save multiple lives, Jesus Blood serves to save all who will believe in him.

Romans 10:8. But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); 9. because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

This is not a temporary fix, the blood we give today will become used up or even spoil…the need will still exist. Jesus' blood is eternal

The forever fix

Hebrews 9:14. How much more will the blood of Christ, who through the Eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God.

Jesus' blood is what will give life forever in heaven. It is not something we do. It is something that was given to us.

1 Peter 1:18. knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, 19. but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot

This relationship with Christ permanent. Through His blood. And His blood does so much more than heal the body, it can make us whole forever. And in the end, it allows us to live with Him eternally

Romans 6:23. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Jesus' blood, if we accept the gift, will give us life that we will enjoy all eternity

Just wanted to let you know, and thank you for your time today
